Mark Cary is the current Youth and Discipleship Director for
the state of Virginia. His wife, Wanda
serves as the state Girls Ministries Coordinator. Prior to joining the State Office team Mark
served as senior pastor of three churches (Chester, Rocky Mount and Kempsville)
for a total of 17 years. He was a staff
minister for three years before moving into the pastorate. In addition to pastoral ministry he has also
been involved in police chaplaincy, serving as a Chaplain Supervisor for the
Virginia Beach Police Department. He has
served the denomination in several elected and appointed positions while also
operating as the coordinator of state-wide events such as Camp Meeting and
Prayer Conference.
Mark's ministry vision is to design and deliver a message of
delightful life that directs people to a decision of becoming a disciple of
Jesus Christ. He also wants believers to
discover, develop and deploy their distinct ministry gifts. A gifted preacher and communicator, Mark is
also skilled in the areas of organization and administration. His leadership philosophy can be summed up in
the phrase: "Model the way and then step out of the way."
The Carys are the proud parents of two daughters and a
